Labor Day weekend is one of the most popular camping weekends of the year. Everyone wants to get one more, great camping trip in before winter weather starts to close in, other responsibilities pop up, and school starts back up. Thinking of the end of summer so soon isn’t something that most people like to do. However, because of the insane popularity of Labor Day camping, it’s unfortunately something we’ve just got to do.

The absolute first thing you should do is decide on your camping destination as early as possible and reserve your campsite right away. The most popular parks and best campsites fill up fast — even faster than it feels like summer flies by. You don’t want to be caught with nowhere to go, so don’t dilly-dally. Reserve your campsite and then you can get back to the warm, sunny weather and your tall glass of lemonade. Then when Labor Day finally gets here, you won’t be scrambling to find a place to camp.
